Student Scholarship

The Central Plateau Vet Society Inc offers a student scholarship to any student from the Central Plateau area who is looking at studying Primary Sector related courses at a tertiary level.

The scholarship shall be available to students attending either Taupō, Reporoa or Turangi area Colleges, or are family members of the Central Plateau Vet Society Inc members.

Existing university students who meet the above criteria may also apply.

A scholarship of $4,500, or such sum that can be amended from time to time, will be awarded to the successful applicant, who may reapply in the following years.

The recipient must maintain a minimum B- average academic record annually in the intended degree for the scholarship to continue.

Please include as many of the following items as are applicable to you: (i) University results to date (applies to applicants already attending university) (ii) Please attach a written presentation that outlines your proposed future (and any present) involvement with the New Zealand Agricultural Industry (500 words maximum). (iii) Please attach a written presentation that demonstrates your leadership skills and/or your involvement with community, sports or other activities (500 words maximum). (iv) Please supply a school testimonial and reference to support your application. (v) Please write a covering letter explaining your reasons for applying for this scholarship.

Applications will be considered by a selection panel appointed by the Central Plateau Vet Society Inc. directors.

The selection panel may refrain from making an award if there is not an applicant of sufficient merit.

The panel’s decision is final and not open to appeal or further correspondence.
